There's only one small problem . . . in order to get to the bus station, he has to walk past a mile-long strip of bars and cathouses. I like adventure travel wwwwaaaayyyyyy off the beaten path so this story was perfect. A young sailor wants to get past the waterfront bars and out into the tropical paradise that is the Philippines. His problem is that 1) he a sailor so naturally he likes to go to bars and run around with loose women (so there's that) and 2) a Filipino bus station is not exactly an easy place for a 20 year old guy to figure out. But the main character is persistent, and he figures out how to get out into the country. This story is complete but it reads like the first chapter of a great romantic adventure novel. I hope the author continues this story with additional installments.Product details

Good, light reading. Somewhat similar to my memories of being stationed in the Philippines.
This story is about a young sailor who goes looking for adventure and finds a woman who can't fully speak English but during their short time together they grow to love each other and the young sailor changes his plans so that he can meet her father, this short story is a great read and I recommend it to anyone who likes adventure I also recommend the other books in this series.
This short story brought back MANY memories of Subic Bay! Thanks shipmate! It is well written and I look forward to reading your other stories.

If you have ever dreamed about sailing to far-away places, pick up the Sea Adventure Collection. Open the pages and get lost (in comfort of your home) in one adventurous tale after another, packed with realism and pure entertainment.
Great short story, makes you feel like you are in the Phillipines. I liked this story wished it was longer, maybe a revised edition with more adventures could be included?
